Chock-full of vegan recipes that don't require mad cooking skills, much less a stove, PETA's Vegan College Cookbook: 275 Easy, Cheap, and Delicious Recipes to Keep You Vegan at School is guaranteed to help even the most culinary-impaired students whip up delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, snacks, and more! Originally released in 2009, the cookbook is being rereleased with 40 new recipes, like the Walking Taco, Chocolate Chip Hug in a Mug, and more ridiculously easy recipes. Written in a clever, upbeat style, all the faves are still included, like the Butt Ugly Sticky Buns, Frozen Frat Balls, Pancake in a Mug, and many more. And the best part is that the most complicated kitchenware you'll ever need is a microwave!

A cookbook that makes it easy for both seasoned vegetarians and newbies to live vegan while keeping up with their classes, PETA's Vegan College Cookbook also features a foreword by PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk, a crash course in what vegans eat, a cheat sheet that lists all the "cheat" meats and egg and dairy alternatives you could ever want—as well as where to find them—and tips on how to stock your kitchen on the cheap.

"I love my Peta Vegan College Cookbook. I'm a college student and only have a stove and microwave so it's super easy to make these recipes and they're so delicious and appealing. It's also easy for me to get the supplies for these meals! "
"Such a great book! I've constantly been looking for a good vegan cookbook that has easy recipes, doesn't have a huge number of ingredients listed for each recipe, and that each one is simple and cheap to make. I really recommend this! "
"I have to be honest, the book didn't stay open on it's own, there were no photos, some of the recipes weren't really recipes (like that granola/soy yogurt thing) and some of the recipes were just plain gross! I hope to see a sequel that makes up for these flaws."
"I have to say I am very impressed with this book. I looked through lots of vegan cookbooks but this one is perfect for me even though I am not in colledge (yet). There are lots of delicious, easy recipes that I cant wait to try. Thanks!"
"It's simple, pretty straight-forward and it's the best choice when all you have is a mini-fridge and a microwave. The whole "nuke" thing got old and annoying pretty fast though; it sounded like it was aimed at 15-year-olds. "
"Awesome book! All you need is a microwave, a short attention span (who wants to be stirring a pot of sauce for 30 mins anyway), and a small budget..... and there's lots of stuff in this book to keep you going. it's especially good for new vegans who need ideas and have limited resources."
"very appeasing to all people, differnet recipes worth to try!! i loved the beginning where they list all the diff brands/companies that make vegan products!!"
"I was really, really excited to get this because I am going to college next year, but when I recieved this in the mail yesterday I was very dissapointed. While some of the recipes I've tried have been good, other I don't think I'll even bother with because they are A)common sense things (i.e. grilled cheese, salsa, peanut butter sanwiches???) or B) too exspensive for a college student to make or C) all made with fake cheese, meats, or sour cream. If you really enjoy fake stuff, this is your cookbook, but if you really are a college student, you'll never be able to survive on a budget buying fake meats every week. & I personally don't like fake meats a lot, & I DEF. don't like them cooked in the microwave! The idea was great, but it needs some improvement."
"Good book, but I was a little disappointed to find it is cheaper on Amazon. :( "
"to holly, almost everything cheaper on amazon and I will be taking this book with me to college in the fall."
"Some good stuff here; but the comment that all that is needed is a microwave is off - the "Breakup Pudding" requires a food processor."
"I bought this book to help me find more nutritious recipes, and I was very pleased. Very few of the recipes required expensive ingredients, and most of them could be made in about 10 minutes. My go-to snack HAS to be the Broke-Ass Cinnamon Rolls. Delicious!"
"I can do this."
-John Young
"I tried the Broke-Ass Cinnamon Rolls, and they came out wonderfully (would have been better with icing, but I was out of powdered sugar; 4 C. powdered sugar & 1/4 C. water). Some recipes were common sense, some were creative twists with everyday foods, and others were gems. A lot of recipes had fake meat, which I don't use, but those who do will love those recipes. Vegan dairy products (sour cream & cheese were two) were also used a lot. "
-Madeline Fisher
"Pictures would have made this book amazing! My imagination can only go so far. The overused bread, broccoli, and lettuce pictures weren't necessary if actual pictures of the stuff were there. Also some of the recipes are pretty obvious things.. ex: bagel and cream cheese recipe.. really? And you can't really say cheap with vegan foods, the products are quite expensive if even able to find around your area. It's like, why bring my broke ass's hopes up? Cool book though, besides that. I am enjoying it ^.^"
