"This book changed my life. I used to be a vegetarian because I was concerned with animal cruelty at processing plants and farms. Each chapter about animal suffering has opened my eyes to other venues of animal cruelty. Safran encourages reading about veganism, including activist groups... After reading this book and discovering organizations similar to (but not as well known) as Peta, I have made the choice to refrain from eating and/or buying any animal products and will no longer be mum when asked why.
