DescriptionTen billion animals are raised in factory farms every year in the United States. In factory farms, these animals are crowded into filthy cages, stalls, or sheds. Most never see the sun, breathe fresh air, or feel grass beneath their feet. They are routinely debeaked, dehorned, and/or castrated without any painkillers. At the slaughterhouse, the animals are often dismembered while they are still conscious. PETA’s undercover investigators have witnessed these and other horrifying abuses in factory farms around the nation.
