Welcome to the PETA Catalog's Customer Service Department! Below you'll find a special list of frequently asked questions and their answers. Please take a look to see if your question is addressed here. In case of an emergency involving an animal in immediate need of assistance, please call your local police, then call 757-622-PETA and follow the instructions to report an emergency. You can also e-mail CIDInfo@peta.org.

Q. When will my order ship?

A. If the items that you ordered are in stock, your order will ship from our fulfillment center within three business days.

Q. How will my order ship, and when will I receive it?

A. Packages are processed from our fulfillment warehouse on the East Coast of the United States in three ways:

  • PETA's Standard Shipping costs the least and will arrive by UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail (depending on your location) in 5-10 business days for addresses in the United States.
  • Need it fast? Choose PETA's Express or Next Day shipping option—you will receive your order within one to three business days of when it is processed. (Note: For Next Day Shipping, order must be received by noon EST)
  • International orders can take up to six weeks to be received, depending on their transit through Customs operations.

Q. Will I be able to track my order?

A. If your order is shipped by UPS, you will be able to track your order. Orders shipped by USPS and all international orders are unable to be tracked.

Q. What are the shipping costs and sales tax for my online or mail in order?

A. Please refer to the below chart to calculate your shipping charges. Some states require the addition of sales tax to the overall total of your order, including shipping.

  • Standard shipping will arrive by UPS Ground or USPS in 5 - 10 business days for addresses in the United States
  • Orders shipping outside of the continental United States may experience longer shipping times
  • AK, HI, PR, APO/FPO and US Territories will arrive by USPS
  • Express Shipping is $12 plus standard delivery charge (per address) and will arrive in 2 - 3 buiness days
  • Next Day shipping is $22 plus standard delivery charge (per address) and will arrive in 1 business day if order is placed by 12:00 p.m. EST

Q. How do I use my promotional code discount?

A. Promotional codes can be applied to an order via the submission box found below the product list in your shopping cart page. Please note that there is a limit of one promotional code per order. Discounts apply to the true merchandise total value only and are not applied to shipping and handling fees or taxes.

Q. When I make a purchase, why am I asked to provide my CVV code?

A. CVV is an authentication procedure established by credit card companies to further efforts towards reducing fraud for internet transactions. It consists of requiring a card holder to enter the CVV number in at transaction time to verify that the card is on hand. The CVV code is a security feature for "card not present" transactions.

Q. Is my credit card charged when I enter my order?

A. Yes and no. Your credit card will be validated and your order amount will be reserved by your credit card company, but it will not actually be charged until your order ships. If items are out of stock, you will not be charged for them until they ship. And, there are no additional shipping charges for back orders when they release.

Q. What is your return policy, and do you provide return labels?

A. PETA has a 100 percent guarantee on all merchandise orders for 60 days. You can return an item for credit, exchange, or refund. We have a very low return rate, so we are not currently including return labels in our orders. We accept exchanges postage-free (i.e., you pay to send in your return, but you will not be charged additional postage on the replacement; we will ship out the exchange item postage-free).

Q. Which T-shirt size should I order?

A. PETA carries a variety of T-shirt types. The regular cotton T-shirts in standard sizes are unisex and sized larger. The fitted sizes run quite small, so you may want to order at least one size larger than usual. Each product page includes a size chart for more accurate information.

Q. Will my order help PETA?

A. PETA is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation funded almost exclusively by the contributions of our members, and as such your PETA Catalog purchase helps to support our vital work to help animals worldwide. Thanks to the assistance of kind people like you, PETA has made tremendous strides to make the world a better place for animals, improving the lives of literally billions of animals suffering in factory farms, laboratories, circuses, and fur farms. Q. Do I receive a discount on merchandise if I am a member?

A. Yes, you will receive a code for 10% off all of your PETACatalog.com purchases. If you are already a PETA member, please e-mail info@peta.org for your discount code.

Q. Will I receive a tax document if I make a donation on PETACatalog.com?

A. Yes, for all donations over $1.00. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing.

Q. Are all of the products you sell made in the U.S.A.?

A. Ideally, we would like to have vendors within the U.S. produce all of our merchandise. However, the availability of “Made in the USA” items is limited. Purchasing items from overseas allows us to offer a wider variety of products that help animals in many ways. By offering many different items with animal rights messages—such as mugs, lunch bags, watches, and wallets—we are better able to spread the word. It also allows a greater percentage of the proceeds from merchandise sales to go directly to PETA's programs that help animals.

Q. Will you sell my product on PETACatalog.com?

A. We are always looking for new items to offer our customers, and we would be happy to review your product. In order for us to consider your product, you must provide all relevant information, including cost, minimum order quantity, credit terms, and lead time. Also, if possible, please send a sample of the item to:

You can also send an e-mail that includes the product information and a photograph to catalog@peta.org. We will review your submission and make every effort possible to respond within 10 days of receipt.

Q. Can you send me a print catalog?

A. Unfortunately, we have discontinued production of printed catalog copies in favor of listing on our online catalog.

We realize not everyone has computer access, so we will always accept orders through the mail or from our toll-free number, 1-877-926-4926. But we found that 80% of our customers were making their PETA catalog purchases through our Web catalog, even though we were sending them the catalog through the mail. Not printing our catalog is saving us more than $100,000 annually on printing and design alone. We will continue to let our members know, through Animal Times magazine, about new products that have been added to our online catalog. In addition, all of the discount codes that we feature in our magazine will also be valid by phone or mail. We hope that this does not inconvenience you in any way. We appreciate your support of PETA and our merchandise program and hope you will choose to order through the Web site, mail, or by telephone.

Please note that most literature items available indicate a "suggested donation" amount. If you're unable to make the suggested donation, please email literature@peta.org.

Any literature ordered with backordered merchandise will be held until the backorder merchandise becomes available.
